Project: Books, Inc. is a non-profit organization placing free books into the hands of people who need them. Project: Books, Inc. was founded in 2011 by Marcia Decker when she saw a dumpster filled with books that could have been sold or re-homed. She went to bed that night upset and when she woke up the following morning, Project: Books was born.
We are devoted to the free distribution of books in Los Angeles County and beyond. With an uncountable number of books being thrown away, our organization hopes to reverse this trend. We work to put used reading materials back in the hands of people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford them. We believe the joys of reading should be shared, and not ended by a landfill.
Project: Books, Inc. has worked with various organizations and events such as KHTS, The Home & Garden Show at The Hyatt, SCV Education Foundation, The Literacy & Arts Festival, Great American Deals, The Santa Clarita Kids Expo, Golden Valley High School and The Family Fall Festival, College of the Canyons.
We are always looking for new events and business opportunities!
